About Neurogenic Yoga Workshop
Neurogenic Yoga is a simple, gentle and profound practice that facilitates the lengthening and relaxation of the psoas muscle and the release of physical and emotional stress and tension. Neuropgenic Yoga uses yoga asana (postures) and pranayama (breath) to prepare the body for a natural response called self-induced therapeutic tremors.
This involuntary shaking and trembling response is genetically coded within every mammal. During a typical Neurogenic Yoga practice, tremors begin in the legs and often spread throughout the entire body. Neurogenic tremors are the nervous systems' way of discharging long-held tension or unconscious muscle contraction in order to restore the body to wholeness.
- Release of chronic tension and increase of energy and stamina
- Discharge of buried emotions and physical trauma
- Freedom from symptoms of sciatica and fibromyalgia
- Decrease of aches and pains
- Improved circulation and flexibility
- Improved sense of feeling grounded

This Day-long Experiential Workshop will include an introduction of tremoring and its history/origin in Dr. David Bercelli's technique of Tension and Trauma Releasing Exercises (TRE) (trademarked).
Participants will experience (2) Neurogenic Yoga classes -- (1) in the morning and (1) in the afternoon with a 90-minute lunchbreak in between. Both sessions include yoga asana, pranayama and a facilitated tremoring experience.
The afternoon session will be a more restorative asana practice than the morning session.
This workshop is appropriate for people of all ages and levels of fitness. No previous knowledge of yoga is required. Maria creates a supportive environment that makes people feel safe leading with compassion and a sense of humor.
